well, as soon as it made it to me, I grew suspect that the diff tag was broken off, there was no white "S" stamp on the top, and the nature of spinning the input shaft should spin the outputs the same direction (they didn't). Opens spin opposite direction, at least for these e30 diffs.Supatek -noun - your basic know it allComment

yea makes sense. you could pop the cover off and check. if you can see gears, it's open.
