Its exactly for a situation like this when youre shipping something valuble and wont be worth anything if it was damaged, which is understandable since they ship so many things at one, but to "lose" something is different cause the service is not completed. It totally disrupts a process, for example, someone who sells things on ebay. If the company was full of dickheads, they could take people's money and claim they lost everyones packages and keep it for themselfs and get away with it... Which i wouldnt be surprised has been done a few times, especially during deliveries. BTW, check the desivery guy's signature

I didn't read everyone's responses but I don't think it would have made a difference if we got insurance or not. UPS would have claimed it was delivered and you would have to prove they damaged it. What was it btw?
