Drug test an entire city with a teaspoon of water

Scientists have figured out a way to drug test an entire city with just a teaspoon of water.

I am sure that they will find plenty of coke and heroin streaming down from the rich neighborhoods.

      Coke and ecstasy actually.

My beef with this whole thing is that it could easily used to test small neighborhoods or even single households. At that point it seems like it would be an invasion of privacy.

Maybe so, however, you would have to have "probably cause" or a search warrant before you can test someone's plumbing. Essentially you would have to have some other evidence that drug activity is going on.

Another thing that I wonder is whether or not household chemicals contain substances equivalent to illegal drugs.

To test a houses plumbing yeah, but waste water doesnt stay in the houses plumbing for very long, it travels out to the sewer. At that point it's no different than sifting through garbage, which is legal.

I love never having to worry or care about anything involving drug testing or anything like this.

You will know who the dopers are just by the response that you get if they pass a law stating that convicted drug users will serve a life sentence.

Somehow the drug culture is still pretty big even though its not as prevelant. Its like when I applied for a job 8 years ago, the manager told me that there might be a pre-employment drug test so if I use drugs, I shouldn't do it for the next couple of weeks. And then he went on to explain that even if you test positive, the lab will call you to schedule a retest before they notify the employer.

And I was sitting there thinking to myself, "This guy must be a serious drug user to know that much about how the system works."

I used to sell an anti-depressant. Similar tests were done in London, and they found fish with near therapeutic levels of my anti-depressant in their blood swimming around the Thames. I always thought that was funny, and every time I go fishing I'm hoping for "happy" fish.
