front suspension is off, oh noes

      here's what's happening.
Cooling down the spindle to prepare for the stub axle sleeve to be shrink fit

      preheating the sleeve

      hitting it with the torch

      end result

Victory! that fucker is on there.
      More soon

Hubs are on. This was a battle

First time on, the hub went on crooked, had to pull it off.

Went down to my local shop and had them attempt to press it on using their hydraulic press.. no dice
solution? One socket and one big hammer.

With the hub about 75% on, I tapped in the nut from the other end, applied loctite, and used the nut to pull the hub the remainder of the way.

                After copious amounts of hammering..

Next challenge is the brake caliper adapter..
I'll let the picture do the talking

That's pretty far off. You gonna send it back or open up the holes?

Shipping back is not really an option, they shipped from Lithuania.
Opening the holes or ovaling them is not an option either because the adapter will shift during use, which is obviously bad.

Only option is to remove material from the caliper carrier, and mounting ears. Might grind some material off the carrier. Not sure yet

                      Grind away this portion

well fuck, that's pretty far off. Are the holes not aligned, or is the undersize relief stopping it from sitting where it wants to be?

the holes line up, the adapter will bolt to the strut no problem.
The brake carrier is flat on the bottom where the mounting holes are, and that flat portion contacts the mounting ears before the holes line up.

There is enough room in the adapter relief as well. The problem is the carriers need to be closer to the center, toward the hub. If that makes sense. The material I marked in red needs to be removed. It protrudes into the relief area as you can see

ohh, I see. The caliper carrier is interfering with the original mounting location. I had to bump the brightness to see what's going on:

Are you sure you've got the caliper and adapter the right way around? Which caliper carrier bracket are you using?

edit: yeah you have it right. interesting.

Hey guys, as i wrote in the FS thread, some calipers do need a little play to fit. This one needs a little notch in the carrier to fit. It is ok, nothing bad will happen if you do that. We already discussed this with OP in PM's.

                              Max.

went to tap my spindles for the locking bolt, but my drill is too small for the 14.5mm drill bit, it doesn't have a reduced shank..
                                should've realized that earlier.

So I ground the carriers instead, it didn't need much, just a slight crescent on each side to clear the mounting ears.
Still a great product! I highly recommend, easily the best option out there for 5 lug conversion. Big e46 brakes and a wider track width up front = insane handling / braking

                                Here's the pics

Test fitting.. The calipers just touch the wheel spokes a tiiiiiny fucking bit, literally scratch the paint off, and nothing more. I think I'll sand the caliper faces a bit to prevent that

Barely clears the wheels by a few mm, so yes these brakes will fit inside 16s
