Here's my uncle's 1960 Giulietta Spider that he just got running. It's been sitting outside for almost 10 years, and when the police cited him for having a junk car in front of his house, he decided it was time to do something with it.
The transmission is stuck in two gears, but he has a 5 speed to swap in.
It has no radiator so he hasn't run it for more than a few seconds, but it's surprising how little work it needed. Just some hoses and brake lines that had gotten old needed replacing mainly.

Here's a video of it running, the exhaust sounds godly.

I took it with my broken phone. I wasn't going for a good video, it was just to send to the police to show it can sorta move under its own power.

Yea that's damage. Both rockers and the inner structures are rotted out. Was an east coast car that made its way up to Canada now I have it in CA. I have 4 all new jack points for it but those will go in in time.

That shot is looking from front towards the rear of the car

                    Nice!

Yeah, seems like every resto thread on GTs, it's the rockers and inner rockers that always go. I had mine replaced on the Duetto.

The rockers and inner rockers trap a lot of moisture and water on GTVs. I was very lucky that my car didn't have any issues there.

In other Alfa news, I got all the nuts and bolts for the engine bay redone with a new black oxide treatment. That means I can bolt most of the stuff back onto the firewall this afternoon. I also black oxided my original somewhat rusty side trim clips. I'll try and install those so I can install my side trim. Its slow going, still waiting to get the car off to the upholstery guy to get the headliner installed, so I can get the windows installed. I'm going to try and get the door window assemblies installed this afternoon (Unless I go for a bike ride.)

It was a productive weekend for me. Lots got done in the engine bay. Throttle assembly is installed, all the firewall gaskets are installed, wiring harness is routed, new grommets where needed. All the hardware has been refinished, either the original hardware has been retreated to a black oxide finish, or new hardware was bought and treated to look original. I'm ready to reinstall the brake hardlines, and master cylinder. I also got some side trim installed. Yes, the wiring harness is still cruddy. The painter didn't bother to do a good job of masking it off. I'm going to try and wipe it down with some acetone, but might just try and slip new shrink wrap over it (if I can find long sections of it.)

Its slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I'm hoping to get it off to the upholstery guy in the next couple weeks so I can get the headliner installed. Once that is done, the front and rear glass can go in.

That's going to be great. Will it be stock looking or GTA-ish / low?
