        Are you sure? I might have misread the German wiring diagrams since the abbreviations for colors are in German

        No need, you can scan everything with the round diagnostic connector under the hood.

            Which per your diagram won't have the switched power it needs....

              Its been over a year since I made this but I'm pretty sure the power comes from the pin labeled for srs diagnostic wiring to power pin 8 of the x6031

                So I did my OBD2 swap from '98 M3 to '89 E30. I have connected all X20 --> C101 wires fine, with my Pin 12 C101 going to Pin 1 on x6031.

                Weirdly, my diagnostic port does not work and won't communicate with the DME; however, the car starts and runs.

                I noticed you wired pin 16 C101 --> pin 8 x6031 (Data Link Fuse)....mine is currently pin 16 C101 --> pin 17 x20 (Data Link), pin 6 c101- - > pin 22 x20

                Is this what's causing my diagnostic connector issues? I get power to scan tool, but no communication.

                Thanks,
                John
