I work night shift, so my travels are usually in the dark. But I do get to see the sunrise sometimes when I get out late.

Snapped this leaving campus on my way to work in downtown Santa Barbara today. Definitely can't complain!

        ^ I miss SB.

Here is my commute. Sometimes there is heavy traffic in the form of one large black cat.

My commute looks similar ... past the guard dog to the coffee pot at zero dark thirty.

The farm shot is absolutely beautiful. I stole it for wallpaper on my PC if you don't mind.

Oh man, I love this. I used to take pictures of my commute from Copake, Ny to Middletown, Ny (90+ miles one way) to show people what I had to deal with some mornings.

I'm sure I have more, but these are the only ones I have on Facebook.

Had a fun ride home tonight!

Truck in front of me high centered a damn Boulder, and I had nowhere to go. I avoided lodging it in the undercarriage of the Miata and took it square in the passenger side tires. Right side of my car came up off the ground.

I pulled over, nothing blown out, no gouges, OK! Good up go!

                Not....

Made it another 40 miles before the vibration started. Looks like the rear tire took it right in the inside sidewall and it ruptured after a bit.

Of course the spare tire has about 5 psi, so my amazing wife loaded one of the stock wheels in her car and came to my rescue!

So yea, there's my share for the day.

Should have avoided it by drifting between two trucks

I spent about 6 months in the southern Tier and about 2 and half of them around middletown in 2008. Nice area, too many city fools living out a ways for my liking though and it showed in the traffic

Even at 10 lanes wide (5 each side), still gets jammed up every morning.

GTA is home to the worlds busiest highway (401), even at 18 lanes wide, it still gets jammed up during the rush hours.

Its pretty boring back woods roads in New England. Fairly standard.

This looks like a fun thread.. My commute changes all the time since I'm on call going to places locally and out of state, getting to see different things is great.. Here's when I was driving from Fairbanks AK to Veldez.. And once I got there..

Edit: oh yea when I finally ended up in Prudhoe Bay, got to dip my feet in the Arctic Ocean afterwards Click image for larger version
