    e12 shorter struts for coilovers

Anyone know what other struts can be used with shortened housings for an e12? Or does anyone have any laying around that they can measure the length of the shock body and OD?

In case anyone is wondering, I just got off the phone with Bilstein and it turns out that the OD and strut body length is the EXACT same measurements as an e30 strut. Which in turn means that you can use ix or Vw g60 struts, theoretically. I will update this after I get them in and put them together.

doesn't that make them the same OD and length as the E28 strut as well?

because iirc, the E30 front inserts work in an E28.

e30 ones are a tad shorter, no? The diameter is the same from e3s up to e30s, and everything in between.

Correct, they are just under an inch shorter than the e28 strut.

ok, so what about shock diameter? Same for E30 and E28? Is that what you mean by "e3 up to e30"? as in literally numerically from the numbers 3 to 30? (as in E28?)
