Hi everyone, I've been working with Simpson Racing to put together a group purchase for their Hybrid Head Restraint System, as I've mentioned here before. Here are the details for any one interested.
The Hybrid Head Restraint is FIA approved and is tested and shown to be compatible with 3-point harnesses used by Car Club enthusiasts and High Performance Driving Experiences. This allows Driving Instructors, Auto Manufacturing Test Engineers, and other cars with 3-point harnesses to have added protection. Additional details can be found in the attached document.

From Simpson:

The testing data that we have is 3500 Newtons of neck tension when tested with only 3 point belts and a helmet. When the same test was performed with 3 point belts, a helmet and a Hybrid, testing was at 1200 Newtons, which is motorsport safety level (SFI) of tension.

I've never heard of the Simpson Hybrid 3 Point Head Restraint before.
Is it similar to a HANS device, but without the need for a roll cage and a full harness?

Is it meant to work with stock seatbelts and seats?
