    wow
Has all kinds of stuff wrong with it. I'll start with the door panels. Its missing the side stainless trim. It seems like its got 101 headlights, but 750 tail lights, (I might be smoking crack, but those headlights look too big) The top of the dash should technically be covered in vinyl, unless its a very early car then it would be a satin black (I'd hate to drive into the sun with something that glossy) The steering wheel is a modern aftermarket one. (Although I can understand why its there. There is a chance I will get one for my car simply because the stock one, or period correct ones are HUGE) Aside from those nitpicks, its a nice looking car.

The GTAM clone looks to be a sweet setup as well. Looks like a great show

A little update on my car. Here are some pics of the aluminum trim.
Rocker panel covers for the doors.

These are clear anodized from the factory, and the anodizing was pretty seriously scratched up. My only choice was to strip the anodizing off and polish them out. They have a little electrolysis pitting, but I'm ok with a little patina.
Before and after pics of the windshield and rear window trim. Each of these took about 6 hrs of work to get cleaned up.

      After:

All the stuff I have just about ready to go back on the car. It all needs a final polish with some basic metal polish to clean the residue from the buffing wheel off. All the aluminum has some patina to it, but the electrolysis pitting has been reduced as much as I can. I'd bet I have 50-60 hrs invested in just these parts to get them to this point.

The Data plates back where they belong. Part of me really wants to buy a new large Alfa Data plate because the original is crusty, however the Small "Alfa Romeo Mailands" plate is irreplaceable. It was only found on some German market cars, and there are only a handful of cars known that have the plate (Less than a dozen from my research.)

A better pic of the Mailands plate from before I took the car apart.

This 67 Duetto is raced in the deep South. He's a well-know race motor builder. I think the story is he raced this car in his early 20s when it was new. After he retired he found it and bought it again. Now he races vintage. Those look like Mustang wheels.

One of the nicest V6s I've seen in a while. All the cladding stripped off so it looks like an Alfetta. Great color. Euro bumpers. The right ride height, the right wheels. Spends a lot of time on the track in MI.

1968 ItalDesign Alfa Iguana show car. Based on the Alfa 33, mid-engined V8.

          I dig it.

Nose has similarities to the Maserati Merak by the same designer.

                Alan Ward 1934 - 2016

The great Alan Ward, developer of Ward & Deane racing suspensions for Alfas, died late last year. He was a fixture in Alfa club racing for a long long time, a very smart guy, always helping others, and knew how to make an Alfa go fast. (and he was apparently a rocket scientist in his spare time, at JPL)

There is a Memorial race in his name this weekend at Willow Springs for those of you nearby - would be fun to see. Many of the Alfa regulars will be there.

Im going to race the E30 in the intermediate group. Rain is in the forecast Saturday Morning so it should make for some excitement. Im a little nervous to run in the rain, but thats what separates the men from the boys, right? Ask Senna!

links not working because of the dots!

Glenn Olivera. That Sprint is one of the earliest if not the earliest Sprint in the US. He lives in Berkeley. I'll be paying him a visit when the time comes to really get my car sorted out (if I can't figure it out myself.)

Speaking of my car, I now have the engine, transmission, all the mounts, and two sets of carbs. I scored a set of Dellorto 40 DHLAs and a set of Mikuni 40pHHs for $400 today. The Mikunis need a quick cleaning and new gaskets and will be ready to go. The Dellortos are crusty, but have no stuck screws, idle jets, ect. I did find one has a cracked float pivot so I will have to replace the whole top of the carb, but at least the part is available. I think the Dellortos are going to either get sold later, or get rebuilt and used as bookends till I find a car to put them on. I'm going to try and run the Mikunis since I have a HUGE selection of jets and parts for them (I run them on my Datsun, but those are 44s rather than 40s.) They run great and are pretty close to fuel injection in terms of running well. I never screw with them.
