Ground Control Touring Plates Caster Adjustment Confusion

    Hey guys,

Refreshed all suspension bits and added some bilstein sports & h&r sport springs recently.
Camber & caster came out a bit uneven and wanted to improve the alignment.

I called GC, told them it was a dual duty car and wanted to equalize caster / camber.
they said hands down the right answer was the touring plates. Picked them up and installing now.
But...I have them in my hand now and its unclear how this will help even out caster.

Can you guys clear up how caster would be adjusted, given the description from GC's site :

These plates feature over 23mm of total camber adjustment (16mm negative/7.5mm positive), with the ability to make corrective caster changes to equalize side-to-side caster in the stock position.

    • Allows for up to 23.5mm total camber adjustment. (16mm negative - 7.5mm positive)
    • Unique slot design allows for caster correction.
    • Revolutionary caster adjustment can be locked or unlocked.
    • Urethane center mounts reduce NVH, yet do not flex.
    • All components plated or anodized for corrosion resistance.
    • Zinc plated mounting bracket for ease of install and adjustment.
    • Available for stock diameter, 60mm or 2.5 inch springs

searched high and low and finally found this thread.

seems the 'locking and unlocking' caster adjustment refers to the washers? Seems pretty bogus to me.

Never used these before. I feel like the adjustment on these is only for caster equalization from side to side, assuming that any small variance from one side to the other will be small enough to fall within this range. How much of a difference are we talking about here?

The Touring plates provide enough adjustment to even out a normal car.

I will add that I've used the GC race plates on a bunch of different cars over the years, including my current race car, and they are fantastic. Tons of adjustment, low stack height, and great fit and finish. You do need to keep them cleaned and lubricated though
