WANTED: Reputable shop/tech to preform transmission swap

Looking for reputable shop to preform transmission swap

Im looking to convert my 91 325 convertible from automatic to 5 speed.

Car is located in Irvine California at a friends house. Im looking to transport car from Southern Cali to Northern but it seems there is way more shops that do custom work in southern California so I thought I would leave it down there until swap is done.

    I need all required parts.

Please PM for details if you know a shop or someone capable of doing work and sourcing parts.

    Thanks.

Just talked to owner and he quoted 1500-1850.

        Is that a reasonable price?

        any thoughts...

Most used 5 speed swap "kits" cost around 5-800 so it seems like a reasonable price. Considering it would probably take a full day to do the whole thing, it really doesnt seem like a bad price.

Definitely something a seasoned vet (like MR 325) could also do, but it adds variables into the equation.

Id compare the prices you get from Matt with what JMP quoted you and go from there. Im sure Matt will be cheaper considering you are paying a person to do it VS a shop

I did 2 last month. it's defiantly a 2 day job to do it right. $1800 is good price if all the parts come with it.
