green or orange coolant??

    Coolant. Like oil, not too important what kind you use, as long as you change it every couple
    of years. And don't mix the wrong colors....

    This used to be true, but newer coolants all use Organic Acid Technology (OAT) so the colors do not mean anything anymore.

      When I got my E30, the coolant was green, and it had been serviced by a BMW specialist shop when the PO had it. With my driving, I'm doing a timing belt every 18 months or so, so I've just stuck to the green. Because I'm in Canada, I mix it around 60/40, because it can get pretty cold where I live. Haven't had any issues in over 4 years running green.
