Finally picked up an e30 vert aka "Red Oktober"

Well...after my almost 3 month search for the right project e30 vert...I finally found one. Vlad just happened to be selling one of his projects that is right up my alley as far as overall condition...I took delivery of the car yesterday (Saturday)...well on to the pics:

e30 and e39 together for their first wash:

    After wash:

    Rust:

The car came with the hardtop, and runs, but it will need a tune up...

Plans include but are not limited to:
    *Complete Interior overhaul
*Suspension overhaul (seems passenger rear strut is blown)
*Plastic bumper conversion incl. front valance
    *Repair sagging hardtop headliner
*repair rust (rear driver's taillight)--see picture above
    *5 speed conversion
*e36 window switch conversion...buttons already sticking
    *Replace seals around windows
    *Replace stereo/speakers/etc
    *Replace Bottlecaps (of course)

More to come...I will keep this thread updated as things progress

Nice project car!! You will love the vert, especially with the hardtop for winter use. Keep us posted on the progress.

That front bumper is pretty hideous on your e39. For the e30: try meguiars 3 step wax with buffer (or by hand..) to take those scratches out.

Thanks...I'm actually planning on tackling the scratches with my porter cable...I hope to be able to salvage the paint....even though I'd love to have it resprayed at some point

            +1 aswell as the wheels.

The e30 looks like a really good base to start off with. Keep us updated
