I'm mid-M50 swap, and have the green funky-shaped engine mounts from the e28 535i.
The passenger side sits nice and flush with both the motor mount arm and the subframe, but the diver's side leans outwards so that it's about 4-5mm from being flush with the subframe.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
I found a post on e30tech from someone that had the same problem, but he ended up just torquing them down as best he could and calling it a day. Is that my only option?
Here's his pic. Mine looks exactly the same in terms of how it sits (i have different mounts obviously - he's using AKG i think):
