        Sorry guys.

Been quite busy with work. Traveled to China last month, going to Texas next week and China again the week after that.

Not a huge amount of progress because of work but I got some goodies :)

        Holset HX35 Non-gated 12 cm^2 turbine housing.

The clearance is so much better! Before it would hit the inner fender and not allow the motor to sit back where it needed to.

Took off old housing that I welded. Things 5 lbs heavier for sure

But it looks so much better :)

Motor has to come back out to install oil return to oil pan and install oil pump.

Don't be a dummy and make sure you weld the bung not blocking the holes :). Gotta shave a fin

        Fits :).

Drill your hole and make sure it's lined up right.

Then do a beginner ass TIG weld on some dirty ass oil soaked casting...man was it hard.

And it wasn't pretty. I actually went back and had a friend go over it for me who's better at welding to ensure no leaks.

Let the pan cool and called it a day. Too bad my landlord is selling the place. I'd love to have this full garage. Neighbor moved out already.

So I got the motor back together and was super stoked because I ordered a spec stage 3 clutch, flywheel bolts, and all the parts to install trans and put back in car!!

Then bad stuff happened. The 28mm m20 flywheel bolts were too short for the 323i flywheel and m52 crank. I needed 37 mm bolts. And BMW only makes 25, 28, and 50mm. Was tempted to go buy highest grade bolts I can but got lucky and Eric had the 50s.

Decided to trade him and try to cut them down :)

Was sketch but it worked haha

Used blue loctite and torqued it! I thought I was on a roll! The Gods were
        With me!

Until I go to put the damn clutch tool in...

        Fail!!

        Spec sent me wrong clutch!

        E30 getrag 260 has a 10 spline, this disc is like a 20.

Should get the correct disc Tomorrow.

When that didn't fit I wanted to fit test the pressure plate. Thank god I did cuz your supposed to use the stock bolts and I didn't order those

I'll update more when I get the correct parts in.

I have to move back home temporarily cuz getting kicked out of my place cuz landlord is selling. Can't find an affordable place with a garage so this is best scenario where I can finish car.

Oh, also made the mistake of getting on my friends wife's cbr500r. So much fun! Not as fast as the vette but pretty quick and fun as hell!

I shouldn't. But I want a 600 now :( but I'd die in the Bay Area. Gotta keep telling myself to wait.

Man. Feel so accomplished. A getrag 260 does not fit in the tunnel with the manically mounts.

Spec had great customer service and got me a new disc out pretty quick.

          Yay! The tool works :)

I wish I had my iPhone 6, these pics suck but you get the point :)

Man. I can't imagine trying to get this trans in with the motor in the car. It was hard to get the splines/tip into the bearing/disc.

What a pain. Even had a friend helping me push.

Who needs a engine load leveler when you have a genius for a dad. He blew my mind when he came up with this. And he calls himself "just a dumb carpenter".

He helped me drop the motor/tranny in. It was not easy. But after some more cutting, it finally set in place.

I have to move the car because my landlord is kicking us out to remodel and sell the place so since I haven't finished the e30 subframe swap. I have to put it on the dolly. I have one week left in the place. Gonna try to make some progress there but least I can get it on a flatbed now.

Was able to spin the car around :)

And here you can see how much bigger the tunnel needs to be.

But it's gonna fit like a glove :)

          More to come.

Next is to fab transmission mounts and get the car steering again...

went to go buy a 325is e30 and the guy had a 2002. Wife loved it - and this is motivating, so who knows, I could have a 2002 in a few years for the wife! Thanks for all of the documentation!

Sorry. Had to move so progress had been slow. Lost my place cuz landlord is gonna sell since the Bay Area is crazy expensive right now.

This is pretty much the last thing I did before I had to move.

Got new track rod/tie rods and reoiled the steering box

Got a make a new downpipe. Gonna go stainless this time instead.

Here's the clearance. 3" should fit fine.

I'm reinforcing the floor for the trans mount. Gonna through bolt the brace to floor.

And the last pic I took of it in the garage I so desperately need :(

Both projects are in one spot now. Never had them both in same pic :). Back at my dads house. Pain in the butt getting this 2002 on/off a trailer without rear suspension.

I have been following your thread since you started it and you influenced me to buy a corvette.

You actually influenced me on an LS swap because the prices were more affordable than I was aware. And after I had saved up for about a year I started looking at how much the swap was going to cost running driving in my E30. I could not justify that price so looked at actually buying a corvette.

Which after searching for a while I found and purchase two Thursdays ago(April 14,2017). It is awesome. I love it. thanks for the influence.

What are your plans for that old Chevy truck?

What did you pick up? I kinda regret not getting the widebody. wish i spent a lil more. LS3 would have been fine.

The truck is a 56 3100. Porterbuilt front clip. R&P Swap, 454 Big Block Chevy. Engine Dyno'd 496hp@5300.

Air lift bags, TCI 4 link, Narrowed Curry 9" and wilwood brakes. Still need to buy a 3rd member. 31 spline axles.

Probably play with throttle plate nitrous since its only 9.5:1 and its carbureted.

You already have all of that done to that truck? That is a super sleeper. From the pictures it doesn't look like you started on the truck. That is bad ass.

                            As for me I bought a 2009 Z06.

Very nice! Love the color too! Careful. My vette has given me the horns. Respect it haha.

Yeah. The trucks front suspension is done. The rear is not. Also the motor is sitting on an engine stand ready to be dropped in. I need to start working on them both. They're both in similar status haha. The 2002 needs to get out of the garage to make room for the 67 camaro getting back from paint
