Recommendations for CA BAR REFEREE stations? Failed for a.. leaky radiator lol

Had an appointment at the one in Alameda. Failed me for a SLOW leaking radiator, temps never rose and never have. Said he didn't care about not running a fan or cone intake, but hinted that he'd fail me for an oil leak as well.

Part of me thinks he failed me off the bat because he wasn't finished with his lunch

Only thing I'm worried about is the charcoal canister. I have the e30 one hooked up. Anyone have issues passing with the e30 one? Recommendations on which stations to try or avoid? Thanks!!

The late carbon can in an 89+ E30 is used on a lot of later models I bar'd my 89 E30 w/ M50 using one. do a part # search on real oem and you will ger a long list
I went to Skyline coll in San Bruno for ref

Cool I'll look around thanks. The motor is from a 93 325i and the chassis is a 92. The canisters were completely different. Did the one in skyline give you any trouble?

Yup the canister is the same as the e34 m50tu, hope he doesn't give me shit for it.

I passed first time . It doesn't hurt to have info on something you think maybe questioned.
print out a couple of pages from real oem. if you used aftermarket /replacement cats definitely take data sheet from website or catalog. If the smog , exhaust system is set up to match the car you are trying to bar yous as you shouldn't have any problems. I'm guessing you will end up as a 93 325. you might be prepared to verify/show the vin # on your DME. My ref chkd mine via computer to verify it matched/applied to the yr you are changing to. I went in for a 94 325 using the 413 DME. the 413 red label is not stk for that model of car but it was within the same 'engine family' quote from ref. so he accepted it.
make sure your check engine lt works. they checked mine about 3 times !
exhaust technically you should use the M50 CI headers. I had the later S50 'tubular ones and no comment was made- paint them black.
Good luck it is worth the effort.

Thanks man, yeah I had a copy of the donor pink slip, used original cat, ecu, etc. except for charcoal canister. Took a pic of the part number on realoem and other websites showing that it's the same canister used on the e34 m50tu so I should be good. Yup check engine light works and radiator is fixed. Appointment is on Thursday, will report.

Okay well I failed, said I threw a code for faulty knock sensors, puff of smoke on start-up, running 10w60. He didn't warm up the cats either. What is the codes for knock sensor? He said some two digit code.
