Hey guys,
In the event that E30tech isn't restored (and we can't get a database dump), I think we should be saving and cataloging what we can from the internet archive/waybackmachine.
Google is already dropping indexing results from the site, which means this trick has a limited lifetime.
Quick How-to:
1. Use google to find links to threads you want by searching: "TOPIC site:e30tech.com", where TOPIC is the information you want.
2. Grab the link and put it into https://archive.org/web/. You may need to remove trailing page numbers (basically anything after showthread.php?t=XXXXX)
3. If the internet archive has the page, you're in luck!
4. Close the small "waybackmachine" navigation bar, or it will show up in your PDFs.
4. To save this page to your computer, use Adobe Acrobat or similar "PDF creator" software. You just "print" the website to a PDF.
5. Upload the PDF so we all have access.
Note: You will have to repeat steps 4 and 5 for each "page" of an e30tech thread you're attempting to save. (If there is information on the other pages you want to save)
-
If anyone has an idea for shared file hosting that will work long-term, let me know.
Scroll down to post #3 for the threads I have already downloaded
