I've had all four back out before. Happened to me while taking the ex to work getting on an off ramp. There was a weird vibration for a few minutes before. Then while pulling on the off ramp the wheel popped off and got stuck in the wheel well. Thank God I was barely going 25 because its a sharp turn ramp. Pulled over immediately. I'm thankful for late arches. I jacked the car up pulled one lug off the three remaining wheels and ran 3 lug each wheel until I got home.

I lost a wheel on my F150 at about 40mph from the same shit happening. The tire/wheel went about 100 yards before it stopped.

This happened to my Brother and his friends on a road trip from. They lost the wheel doing 75 and skidded to the side of the highway. Firestone fucked up on changing the tires(friends car, parents owned).

Red Loctite those studs is the safest IMO. Not sure if the Volvo is the same design as BMW's stud.

Glad you're safe, I would have pissed myself too. Way too scary.

I had a spindle snap on my 66' Stang as I was pulling onto 4th St. in Corvallis. I had just been on River Road doing 60. Lucky I was going like 15, then scraping asphalt.
I didn't tighten lugs once and only once. Ruined the studs.
