    Anyone run glasspacks?

What are all your thoughts on running two 2"inlet/outlet thrush glasspacks off the stock system? (Yeah it's a little rednek I know.) I understand the stock pipes are either 45mm or 1 7/8", Neither of these are quite 2 inches. Im pretty clueless at this stuff but would you be able to use 2" glasspacks off the origional system?
    Thanks

The exhaust Dave just dropped off for me is a stock i exhaust, strait pipes back to two glasspacks with 3" outlets. I'll let you know how it sounds in a few days when i get the time to put it on.

Great thanks. I'm thinking it should be loud as hell but we'll see.

had glasspacks on the 540i, removed the resonator, and left the cats, heres how it sounded- http://home.earthlink.net/~twc952835...les/reving.wav

from inside the car it was pretty quiet unless wot, but from outside I was told it was something else.

thanks, glasspacks are pretty much straight through mufflers with fiberglass packed inside, as time goes on, the fiberglass burns up and the car becomes a bit louder. I believe thats 2 1/4 inches

I am running a glasspack in the center section of my exhaust [the area where the cat would be]. That combined with my headers and Magnaflow style muffler sound awesome. I originally built the exhaust with just a straight pipe back to the muffler, in other words without the glasspack, and it sounded like shit. Adding that in there really did the trick.

If I ran dual 2" pipes out of the cat into two glasspacks there shouldn't be any problems with too little back pressure damaging the engine, right?

I am running 2 glasspacks then to a straight through muffler.. sounds freakin aawesome!! Before I wasnt running the glasspacks and it was way too loud.. mostly inside of the car, the exterior noise stayed about the same. I can send you a video of the before glasspacks if you want to give me your e-mail.
