1988 316i SEDAN
One of first to get plastic bumpers (late 87 production)
$10k USD OR BEST REASONABLE OFFER
No roof
No abs
No ps (e36 rack with ps delete kit)
No rear discs (yes, drums)
No ac (includes one from the donor engine)
No radio (delete panel)
No fat at all
Removed absolutely everything
Repainted car in original LACHSILBER
Delivered to paint booth with no engine or trans
POR15 on floors, two thick layers after metal prep and treatment
No more sound insulation so a thick layer of TAR/asphalt from local store is under carpet, worked very well just required ALOT of waiting for it to cure
Trunk and engine bay also painted but not shaved or anything special just plain clean and uniform
Racing Dynamics front and rear covers painted to match (no skirts)
Carpet removed, power washed and sundried so it's minty clean
The theme is all ITALIAN as it was imported from there to CANADA
I tried to maintain that theme throughout ......mainly momo, RECARO, super sprint and racing dynamics (rest is oem or German)
Driven by a lady who drenched the car in oil from engine bay to doors
So it spent it's life being driven with 99 horsepower (brand new it had 99hp!)
Body had mainly cosmetic issues but was really in good condition
STRUCTURALLY PERFECT
ABSOLUTELY ZERO RUST
And it was registered with NO CAT as that is how it was in Italy, but I'm afraid that won't fly so that remains to be seen, so it will come with a used header to cat exhaust from a regular NA m42 (not installed)
The car will be sold as is with no etest or safety, you are welcome to take it to your mechanic (may change this if price is met)
Momo steering wheel
Dash replaced with crack free one along with blower
Super sprint dual square exhaust MASSIVE 12" CATBACK (no cat as is)
Barely fits out of the rear RD opening
Bone stock m42 and g240 transmission installed whole
It ran well so didn't want or need to do a singular thing to it minus all main seals like rear main, input/output, oilpan, shifter, and yo mama of course
The single mass flywheel off the 316 m40 was machined and lightened and installed with a new clutch kit in the m42
The m40 was the basis for the later m42 but had a single mass flywheel, so I tossed the m40 but retained the sm fw which matched up with the m42 starter
I also retained the upper and lower oilpans for spares
The donor was a recently refreshed and crashed cabrio 318i with 195KM
It comes with the small case and rare 427 differential (this means about 3500 at 70mph)
Tire height also has an impact on revs etc
Stock black powdercoated weaves with newer general tires balanced and straight
Sized 215 60 14, nice n meaty
Recaro SRD DRIVERS seat with custom rail
It's black with grey center and (semi matching but very close) grey cloth seats with rear headrests (no ski pass through) with black grey cloth door cards (eveything looks uniform and stock but can include all black door cards if price is met)
BILSTEIN sport/Vogland suspension barely broken in
Eibach yellow strut housing (bigger 325i version)
The front pads and rotors are barely broken in along with new sensors
The car looks mint
Now for the bad parts ........
The paint has orange peel
I didn't have the final wet sand done (which will be included if price is met)
I wanted to save that until all engine/drivetrain/trim parts were installed in case of scratches or mishaps
Smileys will cost more but it will come with ellipsoids (if price is met.....)
The fogs are installed but not hooked up (fogs are crack free minty however)
The battery is in the front passenger side (newer battery)
Rear drums (I will include rear trailing arms/brakes/calipers off the cabrio)
Ebrake will need to be serviced eventually but will pass safety for now
Front power windows, rears are manual and no heated seats
I will update if there's more
I will upload more pictures weather permitting
Car can be delivered anywhere along the 75 down to Georgia
