    Flat black E34, build thread

For personal motivation, feel free to ignore.

Migrated parts from stripped out M-Sport 540I, mint everything:

No wife, no problem. Just mask the floors:

Even with low mileage E34 doors already rusting, sand it, convert it and coat it with rubberized coating. You think your body shop will do it when you are getting a paint job?

Had to re-sand a lot of areas with proper power tools after suspecting more rust and remove the hidden rust layers.

Gutted the trunk and discovered body holes under tail lights after removing bubbling paint, tons of rust under plastic cover on trunk lock hinge... removed as much as I could from there.

For tail light side rust I sanded the crap out of it, bondo it and primed/painted it.. I can't believe I had hole in the car like that.. terrible. I will re-focus on trunk later since for not it's covered in rust convertor but I'm sure I missed some little rust spots.\

            On better note:

wrap is in the house ;)

Have to prep the hood/roof on Saturday then we will start wrapping top of the car + trunk.

M-Sport mirror after 2 attempts of complete repaint, came out flawless

Black on top is from flash, bottom is covered in tape and not part of the paint.

4 door family car, gangsta sytlee.

My first thought was "Yuk, how distasteful" and then seeing how you are doing it right, I am thinking more like "rock on, bruddah!"

Please bust some decent pics when closer to finished, I really do wanna see this thing.

Thanks guys! Installing trunk, wrapping doors and getting rust free fenders somewhere this week. Going to take off bumpers for paint+wrap with side skirts then next, next Sunday new doors are going in

I want to paint my e30 flat black.. shop quoted me for 1500 that includes full body work and paint and I don't even know if they're going to do a good job for that, just don't want to get ripped off. I got a few small dents here and there. I don't know if this is worth it or should I just do it myself.. Problem is I don't know how to paint...
