    no gas

It seems like i always so a thread title such as mine but i couldnt find anything helpful. I had my s50 running like a top for about two days but let it sit for a few days while some parts came. During that time all i did was put in a new chip and now my fuel pump wont switch on. The pump itself is fine, the relay is fine, and everything i touched with taking the dme out is fine. Any ideas as to why i have no power to the pump? I am going out to get a volt meter because i cant find mine but i just thought i would throw this out here for when i get back.

*i also tried putting the old chip back in and that didnt help.

i now have more to add to this. I double checked my fuel pump and i am confused about something. I wired the pump to run straight off the battery and i ran it without the gas line hooked to it but no gas came out. I figured it would pump gas up, is there more to this process? Do DME's get really hot, i felt mine and it was almost to hot to touch, this worrys me.

the pump (if it's in the tank) should be picking up fuel and spraying it. that is, if there's fuel in the tank, or the strainer's not blocked.

Also running a pump without fuel can overheat it and kill it... but if it's running then i'd guess fuel intake is the problem.

can't speak about the dme, i think mine gets warm too (has a heatsink) but not melting-plastic hot.

i just realized i had my wires crossed on the pump. It still sounded like it was running correctly so that was confusing.
