    How are my cam sprockets?

    Finished tearing down the head and these were my sprockets. Someone mentioned that they can be a sign of timing chain problems. How does it look?

    I'd say those are ok, they're not sharp anywhere right? They're nicely squared off at the tips of the teeth, and the round u shaped areas are even looking.

        I bought his motor to replace a blown m42. Tore it down to refresh things before I put swap it in. Everything actually looks pretty good as if someone had been in there recently. The guides also look pretty good...I think. Im not sure what bad guides look like. I'm going to replace the upper one regardless. Is there anywhere that sells the side and bottom guides cheaper than the oem bmw price on pelican?
