    A/C removal...

Wintertime is upon us, and I mine does not work anyways. Plus I want to have a more equal weight distribution. Sand bags will work fine in the trunk, but once the snow melts I still want some good weight dist.

I know lots have done this, so anyone want to do a little write-up for me!?

I can remove verything, belts and what ever else there is. the core/

    thanks

Or you could just tell him what he wants to know, instead of telling him it's easy and laughing it off.

      Ridiculous

      Grow up.

Are you going to be Auto-Xing? Why are you worried about weight distrobution? Just curious. How much does the AC system weigh?

Do you say "ha ha" after every single post you make?

You used to go on and on for days at a time about how big of an asshole Jordan was, and now you're doing the same thing he used to do. I can count on one hand the amount of useful things you've posted on this board. If you don't have anything helpful to add, shut the hell up.

bwanac, the biggest thing you have to get rid of is the compressor, that itself weighs about 30-40 lbs. If you really want to get in-depth, you can remove all the AC lines which is a bit more involving. There is another part to it as well, I can't remember what it is.

                    Theres also the condenser infront of the radiator. So all togeather;

                    Compressor
                    Condensor
                    Reciever/driver
                    all AC lines

                    HTH

hey bro... i just did this recently... and they're right, it's pretty simple

all you gotta do first is make sure the lijnes are depressurized.... & if it's not working, it's likely that the lines are empty... to find out, open your hood & look for the lines on teh pax side. there should be a small black cap that covers what looks like a bicycle tube stem... just push down & listen for a hiss... if it hisses for more than a couple seconds, then decide if you wanna keep letting it out (not the best thing to do) or bring it to a shop & have them properly dispose of it... that'd be like 10-20 bucks or somethin probably... i dunno

next, just start disconnecting everything... lines, compressor & its monting bracket (heaviest of the bunch), receiver/dryer & condensor (the mini-radiator thing)

the condensor is the only thing i have left.. .just haven't gotten around to it & i'm not sure what you'd have to remove to get to it & whether or not the radiator needs to be re-mounted.... but i'm thinking it doesnt, so it shouldn't be too hard

hope that helps ya, my masshole bro

by the way, there's a few more lines & components under the dashboard... i haven't gotten to those yet so i dunno what's involved in that... i think Will (ydubb4) has done those though. i'll send him over next time i see him on AOL

i am unfortuneatly not coming! i am going to see a school up in NY (Clarkson).

More questions on the removal. I got the compressor out, or whatever the biggest part is. now i have tubes running all over the place. i got the two that run along the back on the top by the windshield. now on the driver side i have two tubes coming straight up. one leads into the car it looks like. the other leads to a little round black thing on the intake that then has a black tube leading directly into the manifold. what do i do with that one?

and how do i access the condensor or the part in front of the radiaor?

thanks guys. and i almost got an eyeful of this stuff, so now i got some full goggles.
