Faster with cel on?

M52 with s52 cams, trm tune, bug bore throttle body, obd1 intake, long tube headers... whatever..

The cel on it pulls nice. With the cel off it bogs. The cel is for the o2 sensor.
When it bogs it feels like a vanos kicked on and it feels good. Anyone have this?

running OBD1 I assume? Fuel maps are prob wrong/off and once it codes (turns light on) it goes to a default map elsewhere which may acutally be better suited for your setup...
