I think that people expect Trump to be unpredictable, such is the point. Bernie...

I really doubt Bernie is lying through his teeth, its usually pretty easy to spot, like Clinton.

That being said I think im at my first major disagreement with Bernies policies, and thats fracking. I dont like Fracking, I think there are too many risks involved to continually do it, but its a better alternative for this transitional period then "clean coal".

I think fracking till renewables and better alternatives are soon made is a better idea then going back to coal, coal is so nasty for the environment in comparison.

Thing is though the oil companies don't ever want to dial back their fracking, there is no inscentive for them to transition to clean energy. Clean energy is definitely possible already. Solar is a shit ton better than it used to be.
        Jah bless! :pimp:

If he is, he's been doing it for a long time. Dude has been a broken record on most of these issues for decades.

my favorite line from this piece, among many
"Once you give power to the government it is nearly impossible to get it back, and it will be used in ways you cannot expect."

The tax code is already progressive. He does nothing to lower taxes on the bottom, but just gets more revenue from the top. Cause, rich is evil.

it's not the main GOP attack line to my knowledge, and I'm not a republican.

i think the rise of saunders is in fact an indictment of the federal government becoming more "progressive" over the years, to the point now that jobs are hard to find that pay anything, and the economy ekes out a 2% growth number which is low. We have accumulated so much debt that servicing the debt crowds out better uses of the money. personal tax rates are higher than the should be in order to feed the beast.
                    growth would cure everything.
and you can discount communism, eastern bloc socialism all you want. yes, maybe bernie is advocating "democratic socialism", but it gives more of your personal freedom to the government that you'll never get back.
and WTF is wrong with getting rich? the more the government tries to eliminate wealth inequality, the worse it's become.

I wouldn't call being able to afford healthcare finally giving away personal freedoms.

I know for certain GOP is gonna use the communist line against bernie, fox had like 3 different segments saying bernie was a communist lol.

I don't think our government has gotten more progressive at all, sure we got the disaster of a healthcare plan that was obamacare, and finally marriage equality. But the repeal of glass stegal and excess deregulation really fucked shit up, and its bound to happen again at this rate. I dunno about you but id rather have my money go to people without health care then a stimulus to a bunch of losers who fucked the economy, and are now doing it again.

It's not that rich is evil. It's called wealth distribution. The people making 500k per year don't NEED the extra 3-4% of their income, they are already fuckin rich. Poor people do need it.

With the current system wealthy people win. With a tax system that supports people out of a job or below the poverty line, everyone wins.

A small tax increase won't keep people who are rich from getting richer. You think every rich person spends all their money to make more money? You might see a small drop in consumerism.

Instead of buying another vacation home or new super car, they're paying to put food on other peoples plates. It's patriotism. Works everywhere else in the world, as long as the government uses that tax responsibly, like not spending 12 billion on a failed jet fighter. :)

So you see the problem, as always, is the middleman.

And buying second homes, super cars, nice clothes, gifts for his friends is a blessing towards his fellow man. They are employed. Even the super car dealership has toilets to clean, security to hire, payroll to pay.

Using the strong arm of the law to take from one man and give to another, while taking his cut, is theft.

You really need to think long and hard about the words you say. They matter.

EDIT: And there is another problem. When will taking a small amount more in taxes cease? When will the appetite of the poor, iPhones in hand, be satiated?

That's true. The "middleman" has taken his cut, however for the wrong reasons. Aka fighting a war on terror that doesn't exist. The president isn't a law maker, he/she governs the military. Perhaps with enough military deescalation that tax increase would be reversed in the future.

I'm not a commie, I understand how terrible a big government can be. I'm just sick of the fear mongering in politics distracting people from what their tax dollars should actually be going to. I'm simply surprised when there's an outrage because the government is spending money on social support systems, but when they squander tax dollars on "military intelligence," nobody bats an eye.

Imagine if that money went directly to support people who just like you, pay into the system despite being on the bottom rung of the societal ladder, whether it's their fault for being there or not.
