So I decided I wanted to do a swap on my E30 with a E36 M3 Zf 5 speed transmission. The flywheel from an e46 m3 Smg transmission looks near identical to a e36 328i or m3 flywheel. I found one on CG and decided to buy it with the clutch for 100$ it appeared to be low mileage.
I compared it to the e36 flywheel, it is the same outside diameter, the teeth are the same. the clutch disc is the same.
The height of the flywheel is 1mm lower on the e46 m3 smg flywheel.
you can use the e46 flywheel on a e30 swap, your clutch engagement may engage higher up.
