    small block e30

I've got a friend who is looking into swapping either a 302 Ford or a 350 Chevy into an E30 chassis. He was wondering if the chassis would hold up to the engine, if the stock rear gears could handle the power... Any help would be appreciated. TIA

That all pretty much depends on driving style/abuse. As long as he doesn't drive like a jackass or throw slicks on it, then using a big case 6cyl. or M3 diff, he should be fine. The chassis will be front heavy, but it will hold up.

      good idea

mmm.... i like the idea, a better engine to go for tho would be the toyota 4 litre v8. They are an all alloy quad cam variable valve timing engine that make just as much if not more then the ford and chevs in stock form plus they are ultra light making the power to weight awesome!!!
      Yeah it'll buff out!

my mechanic dropped a small block 350 in an old e30 shell the dealer had out back. you should have seen all the guys bring in their new 5 series and give the car funny looks when he was working on it.

let me see if i can find my pics of it.

I would recommend installing the LS6 heads and cam to put you near the 400hp level.
