So guys? Lets count all the e30/m30 that you know of (U.S.)

Ok ME, ely, bmw335ist....any one else?

I know of at least two others - one that sold on ebay a year ago (bronzit?) and Oh, the guy that translated the 335i.de (part of e30.de) from german to english had done the swap. Who else am I missing? I *think* Peter McHenery has done a few of them over the years...

What would you say - maby 12-15 of m30 powered e30 in the US?

A yard in PA was doing a swap, and a guy in atlanta Had a E30 m30 for a bit. I realy don't think there are that many. I think the weight just discourges everyone from the get go, but with just some minor suspension mods I've noticed no difference due to the added weight.

What prople forget is that even m50 swaps add weight to the front.

I love it when some guy goes - "oh m30 - that's a lot of weight", then raves about a euro s50 in a e30 - or the guy with 200 pounds of stero gear in his trunk...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I hear that a lot. Their reason is always "don't go with the m30 that's going to upset the balance; go with an m50 instead." When in reality the m50 is only about 15lbs lighter than the m30.

Im in the process of doing one and should have it running in 2 weeks.

I bought my m30 engine and drivetrain from CR's BMW Wholesale. He has an m30 in an m3 that he found that was just a shell... didn't even have an interior. He has had it running for about a year now.

Im taking out the A/C so that should pretty much negate the extra weight. People thinks that "oh, its 150lbs heavier" that is all hanging in front of the front axle... evenly distributed its really not that much. The biggest thing is people need to realize this is not Formula 1.

Anyone with a completed M30 E30 should shoot me some pics. If you don't have a website I can host some for ya.
