I'd be down to cruise with Scott. I'm really contemplating going to this.

That will leave Saturday to relax and then attend the party. Sunday we'll enjoy the picnic and stay that night as well to travel home Monday.

If anyone else is looking for a place to stay I did a bunch of research and decided on the Best Western at the Tacoma Dome. Prices are reasonable and it's actually a decent place. They also have a gated parking garage which I thought was great. I used a corporate code (00322510) thanks to some online research that gave me the best rates I could find anywhere online.

Here's the hotel:

I'll say this, as someone who lives in Tacoma. Make sure you use the gated parking lot. That area is kind of sketchy. Pretty centrally located to Griots, James' and, Marymount.

Most likely going to bring my 323i. I'm not about to get all those paint chips on the M-Tech!

That's what painter's tape and plastidip were invented for! Spray the whole front of the car in plastidip and drive!

I should do this. last year some jerk in a truck driving on the shoulder of 5 threw up rocks and broke my headlight and chipped my paint. he broke my friend's windshield.

That sucks! I must be lucky, I've driven mine ~16k miles in the last year and a half with probably 80% of them on the 5 and have only little chips on my bumper and a few on the windshield. Only protection is laminx on my euro headlights. (those 18wheelers and rain!)

That said, my front valance looks pretty dang chipped up and it was nearly chip free when I bought the car. The cost of dailying I guess I want to make it my fun car and relieve it of some of the daily duty but that's not in the cards currently.
