F20C powered 325i

My son got this car after hearing me talk for years about how fun these cars are to drive. He enjoyed it for about 2 months before the head gasket popped. Being that we are a Honda family he wanted to swap a f20c in the car but he quickly found this was going to be a bigger project than he could tackle. I bought him a 2004 Accord V6 6 speed as a trade for the e30 and my buddy and I got to work....

In for results! I've always thought this would be an ideal powertrain for an e30.

Subscribed, I've always liked the idea of this swap (with a science of speed supercharger kit also).

The problem is getting it to clear the front crossmember.

put a lower case h before .jpg of all the picture url's. That will resize them to 1024x768

What does the F20/trans weight compared to the M20? What was the most difficult part about the shifter location?

We didn't weigh them (wish we would have) but I understand a company f20c swap with engine harness and ecu is about 460lbs

How is that a "problem"? Anything that fits a 240sx will fit an e30 as far as frame clearance. The 240 swap pans are popular to use in our cars. If you prefer to keep a rear sump, Arc Asylum makes a sub frame to clear rear sump pans.
