What the heck is this tool used for?

You guys have any idea what this "Punch/Crowbar/Hammer/Chisel" thing might be used for?

My father bought a house and the PO left a ton of old tools in the garage. The thing is on a wooden handle and after cleaning the top is either copper or bronze. Weighs a good pound- great for smashing in knee caps, but I honestly have no idea what it could have been used for.

Any ideas? No names or numbers on it, think there was on the handle but they were worn off years ago...it's old...

          It's for old blow torches

It sits on top, get hots, and it's basically a primative soldering iron

Your boots ship this week btw

Awesome- thanks for that man...I would have never guess it. I actually found the rest of burner and thought it was an old coal mining light...guess I should dive back in the dumpster to get it

Either way you should. Cause them old mining lights can be worth a decent amount of money for what they are.

Yes that thing is a indeed soldering iron. You can heat it with a map gas torch, an acetylene torch or whatever.

It's not for electronic circuitry obviously. It's more for soldering seams in copper roofing, brass sheet, galvanized steel, or even mild steel. I own one of those and actually find a use for it about once in every coon's age.
