Sport evo/ Recaro SR in Convertible

    Hi

Anybody fitted Sport evo seats which are basically Recaro SR in a Convertible?

How are the seat bases from sport seats different from Sport evo seat bases? Or are they the same?

sport evo, like from an e30 m3? they will bolt right in and tilt so they would look badass and be a perfect fit

I had American spec e30 m3 front and rear seats in my four door 89 325i. just unbolted mine and bolted those in place.

Yepp, from an e30 m3 sport evo, there are quite a bit of these for sale in Germany since the Recaro SR is basically the same seat.

Havent found pix of these in a Convertible but I think they should be really cool and love the integrated head rest.

Are you sure about that? Should be Recaro SR or SR2 with BMW clothing or leather on them...

I was mostly interested in the fitment of them in Convertible chassis, because there are no factory ones with the seats...

Yes, I am. Sport Evo seats are custom made for BMW. Upper part of the Sport Evo seat is wider and lower than SR. There are many differences between SR´s vs. Sport Evo seats. Recaro SRD is much closer, than the regular SR.

Sooo many sellers on ebay says, that their seats are same as Sport Evo seats, although they do not know what kind of Sport Evo seat is. And that´s the point.

That clears it up nicely! Thanks.

What is your opinion on fitment? How tight is the fitment of the real Sport Evo seat? Is there room for Sr or Srd seats in an e30?

                Aesthetically they would look nice.

SRD seats came stock in the e30 M3 Evos. So, yes. There's room.

That's interesting...my seats say L-Modular and I was part of the S14.net Sport Evo seat group buy mentioned in the other thread. According to the guy who recovered these, they were pulled and recovered from a Sport Evo. Difficult to confirm though.

I´m sorry, but I think that your seats are not from Sport Evo.

                      1. Circled in green sections: Sport Evo seat is missing the vertical bars, which are on your seats.

                      2. The red line: Sport Evo´s headrest is lower than on your seat.

                      3. Picture below. White arrow: Your seats says L-Modular, but Sport Evos seats says nothing. There is no text on this area. Also looks like this whole edgeplastic is different. You can see, there is no text and Sport Evo´s plastic do not have that circular area.

                      4. Your seat mounts are not from Sport Evo.

it also appears that the shoulder and lumbar bolstering are quite a bit more aggressive on the real sport evo units

Lets just for arguments sake say that unless the seats came from a known Sport Evo M3 they are not Sport Evo seats. I have two sets of SRD's and that's what they are Recaro SRD's

SRD's and SR's fit in E30's period. That makes it far easier than to argue this over and over again.

MukeM3 thanks. Great detective work. I have lots of pictures of Sport Evo seats but never noticed what you pointed out. I was aware that the adapter and mount was not from the Sport Evo. The guy that recovered these seats called them Recaro SRs (here's the thread: https://s14net.vbulletin.net/forum/s...-sportevo-evo3). I suspected that they weren't from a Sport Evo considering how many sets were in the group buy but couldn't really tell before now. Still love my seats just not EVO3 seats.
