    5 Speed Swap

    Hi all,

I am picking up a parts car this weekend to use for my 5spd swap.

My car: 92 325i Vert, black 108k miles, airbag car, LSD
Donor: 90 325i sedan, gray 170k miles, airbag car, LSD

I just want to make sure I'll be able to swap everything into my car. I read that the main differences would be the pedals from non airbag to airbag, so i think i'm covered there. Also, any parts you would recommended buying new, I'd be open to that as well. Clutch, slave cylinder, etc?

Also, anyone in the area wiling to help with the swap? Willing to discuss how I can pay you back...Will have entire donor car with good condition black comfort seats and interior. It's just wrecked in the front, engine is still good as well.

You definitely want a new clutch kit including TOB and hydraulics including the hose. I also replaced the CSB, RMS, guibo & pan gasket just for good measure. Shifter bushings, shift plate mounts and trans seals are other items it's good to replace WYAIT

If youre sticking with an M20 flywheel get it faced and I'd suggest new hardware. I opt d for a 7 lb flywheel which I love.
Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

      Thank you!!

Since I am new to the E30 world, would you mind providing any parts list you may have from when you did it and where to buy? For my last car, I mostly purchased from Pelican parts, but am open to any retailer (preferably an E30 supporting vender though).

All I know for sure so far is that I'll probably go with a Sachs OEM clutch. But i want to replace whatever I can during the process if at all possible. Still haven't decided if I'm gonna try to tackle it myself or have the shop do it. Got a pretty reasonable estimate if i brought both cars to do the swap. It was pretty fair, so if I get stuck or lazy or cold, its nice to know I can go that route but I definitely will be parting out the rest of the car to recoup some of the loss.

What parts do you guys think are worth anything?

      What even are these? LOL
