M50tu, new o2, crank, cam, and coolant temp sensors. I checked the wiring for any breaks and it looked fine. Check engine light comes on right away on a cold start, but it usually doesn't happen. Goes away after about 30 mins of driving. Runs healthy, does feel like it lost power but I might have just gotten used to the new motor, dunno.

CODE 1221 randomly comes on during cold start

I was trying to reset the 1221 code but it didn't work. I never saw a 1000 code, just kept repeating 1221. But then the motor starting running rough when I went to start it. First time it's ever done anything like this, happened after i tried resetting the code. Sounds like it's misfiring, I can smell fumes, don't know if it's rich or lean, didn't notice any smoke.
Is my fuel pump going out? I consistently get around 300 miles per tank. I went on a spirited drive Sunday and killed a tank in 220 miles, felt healthy though. Drove 100 miles today for work just fine.
1215 popped up too, but it's probably because it was backfiring through the intake. I hear the fuel pump come on though. Going to check the relays tomorrow at the shop. It's really strange how it happened right after I tried the stomp test, wonder if it had something to do with not being able to erase the 1221 code.

Replaced the relays and it made no difference. Could this be a dying fuel pump or bad performance chip? Getting it towed :(
When I start the car, it revs up to 1500rpm then dies. I can keep the car on if I play with the throttle but it will sputter and backfire into the intake. In the video where it's idling on its own, I played with the throttle long enough for the car to idle on its own but it still wants to die.Last edited by THEhomelessONE; 08-28-2014, 01:07 PM.
