      - M42 radiator, new thermostat and 80C aux fan switch. Will be running a spal pusher eventually

      9. Exhaust System- OBD-1 headers to E36 y-pipe. Had my existing exhaust trimmed and bent to meet the y-pipe. Super super simple. New bosch 02 sensor.
      Just a quick update. 18K miles later and all I've done is a belt tensioner, new coils/plugs and oil changes. Still loving the car! Thinking about looking into an S50 for next year though or a low boost turbo.

        S52B32: fully functional obd2.
        Stock s52 cams (intake/exhaust)
        rebuilt/flow tested/ultra sonic cleaned pink top injectors
        E39 528i fuel rail with built in FPR (I can run the vanity cover, no problem, with no modifications. Awesome part but super hard to find)
        3" stock MAF
        K&N 9in cone filter
        e34 oil pan with stock baffle
        Red locktite'd and safety wired oil pump nut

        2. Engine Wiring
        RobertK @ Kadunza rewired my E36 wiring harness. Easily the best part of the swap. Everything was labeled, and stretched to the proper lengths to insure proper fitment. Fired up literally first try with no CEL's.

        3. DME

        Dave Markert @ Markert Motorworks reflashed my DME.
        We removed...
        -SAP
        -EWS
        -muffler valve
        -vehicle speed signal requirement (for 87 325i/iS)
        -bumped the redline


        4. Drivetrain
        Getrag 260, fully resealed and hot tanked.
        M20 single mass LTW flywheel (11lbs)
        Sachs Spec 2 M20 Clutch and Pressure Plate. rated for 400hp
        E30 325i throw out bearing and pilot bearing
        E30 325i clutch slave cylinder
        E30 325i clutch master cylinder
        E30 UUC Stainless Steel Clutch hose
        Custom trans brace
        E21 Trans Mounts
        Manual e30 driveshaft new CSB and Guibo
        3.73 LSD (70mph = 2,900 rpm)

        5. Shift Lever and Linkage
        UUC Evo3 shifter
        UUC DSSR (with 10degree twist)
        late model selector rod joint (to fit DSSR)
        Garagistic Delrin bushings, front & Rear
        ZHP Shift knob

          Engine wiring- E36 harness with 318 wire cover wired by kadunza. red413, Dinan Chip

          Drivetrain- ZF that came with the s50, e30 driveline, revshift guibo adapter, e21 mounts with aluminum cups

          Shift Lever and Linkage- Nardi shift knob, AC Schnitzer short shifter, new bushings

          Motor Mounts- E28 mounts, E36 mount arms

          Brake Booster- E21 booster with stock madter, abs deleted

          Steering- e30 rack, PS delete

          Cooling- m42 radiator, electric pusher fan

          Exhaust- stock obd1 manifolds I will be using a aftermarket catco cats with magnaflow muffler hopefully it will pass bar inspection!

                Yeah some angled aluminum and the original black tab thingy?? holds it down. The aluminum is fastened to the battery tray. The hose runs behind the engine, over the trans bell housing. The overflow runs through the wiper/blower motor area. Just some rubber hose wrapped in fire sleeve.

                      So my car is a work in progress as I am also doing big turbo in my GTI. Here's what I have so far.

                      Car: 1991 318is

                      Donor: 1999 M3, 143k perfectly running car

                      Parts taken from: 1999 Z3 2.8, E34 525i, E36 328i

                      Engine
                      - S52B32 OBD1
                      - M50 Manifold
                      - M50 Fuel Rail (considering switching back)
                      - Pink Injectors
                      - E34 oil pan
                      - Some ghost tune I had a buddy flashed with EWS delete

                      Engine Wiring
                      -Andrew's wiring harness adapter. Car was auto so will be getting rid of extra wires.

                      Drivetrain
                      - Z3 2.8 ZF trans. Stock clutch, flywheel and pressure plate.
                      - Z3 2.8 LSD 3.15

                      Suspension
                      - E36 M3 5 lug conversion up front(not installed)
                      - Z3 2.8 rear trailing arms(not installed)
                      - Eibach lowering springs(not installed)
                      - SACHs rear struts from a E36 328i
                      - E36 328i generic rear strut brace

                      Mounts
                      - Condor Bushings Engine and Trans. Having difficulty aligning the engine mounts but will try again soon.

                      Braking
                      - E36 M3 Front Brakes (Hubs, rotors, calipers, pads)
                      - Z3 Rear Brakes
                      - 944 Brake booster ( had the stock clevis welded to it)

                      Steering System
                      - E36 M3 steering rack with fresh tie rod ends. No spacers were needed however I have to shave the steering rod hole at the bottom. It was touch slightly.

                      Cooling System
                      - Mishimoto E36 radiator. Plan to run an E-fan in front of the condenser.
                      - E36 M3 hoses for now.

                      Exhaust System
                      - EBay SS headers
                      - Remus muffler

                        How do you like your exhaust setup? I'm gonna be at that step soon, S52 with stock headers. And have similar parts, Vibrant 1149 Muffler and Vibrant 1141 2.5" Ultra Quiet Resonator and wondering how it's going to sound. I was originally planing on going from the headers to two individual 2.5" pipes with an x-pipe, then the two pipes to a Y-pipe and into the resonator, and single pipe the muffler. But, if yours sounds good, I may be able to mimic yours instead.

                          Curious on avg price for this swap/build

                          Looking to swap the e30 still figuring out my path. Depends on what I can get my hands on! Also what anyone would recommend. Find an s5x full setup or build from m52 block?

                            +1 I would like to see some pics of the modified manifolds and custom downpipes. Also very interested in the noise level with this set-up.

                            The exhaust manifold to downpipe connection is the only area of my M52 swap I have not quite figured out yet.

                              i'm still putting mine together, but i'm using an arcasylum modified subframe with stock s52 headers and downpipes
