    10mpg shocker!!!

I've been clocking about 10mpg driving around town since recently getting my ride on the road again. Some horrendous traffic mind but still no excuse for such poor fuel consumption.
I'm happy that the car's mechanically sound since testing the newly installed engine and had planned to optimise the brakes and suspension next followed lastly by cosmetics.
I now find myself having to address this fuel consumption as a matter of urgency so it's at the top of my list.
What type of garage, performing what kind of service do you suggest I go to.
There are a ton of small garages I could go to but they tend to specialise in car repairs rather than being able to perform engine checks and tuning.
One other thing which (at a guess) is a major factor in all this is that my o2/lambda sensors were cut away shortly after leaving the cats by whom ever did the conversion I assume. After spending much time finding out where they need to go to I've realised that whereas the original m42 engine will have had only needed one therefore 1 pin on the ecu end whereas the m60 has 2 and therefore 2 pins. This raises an interesting question (to me anyways).

Do any of you with the m60 conversion have your o2's connected and working and if so how have you wired them up?

    Thanks in advance.

There's a provision in the M60 harness for both O2 sensors, without them its no wonder you're getting horrible fuel mileage.

Right but I need to know how to wire it up to resolve the issue.
Again a call out to anyone who has the conversion. what did you do to connect your o2 sensors.

The o2 sensors go into each side of the downpipe right after the manifold. There is supposed to be a welded bung where you can screw in. Obviously your V8 requires two o2 sensors, one sensor goes at the end of the manifold for cylinders 1,3,5,7 and the other onto 2,4,6,8.
To wire up you basically plug it to the pins provided with factory harness.

Try poking around there and asking a few questions. Who did the swap and why did they fail to incorporate both O2 sensors?

At idle, our race-car is 13.9-14.1 AFR without O2 sensors. That's not going to wash-down cylinder walls.

Check ECT, IAT, MAF and TPS in that order. Leaky/dirty injectors can also cause low MPG issues.
