1996 BMW 328is Autocross/ Track Car
Up for sale I have my 1996 BMW 328is. This was used primarily as an autocross car in STX class and is very competitive locally and divisionally. This car is very well-balanced on the track as it currently sits. This car is street-able and was my daily driver for a few years. Overall the car is a 8.5/10 with minor dings and scratches which is to be expected at it's age. The car currently has 146,784 miles. I have owned the car since 2013 when it had 114,000 miles and as long as I've owned it the oil has been changed every 4,000 miles with Schaeffer's 20w-50 full synthetic oil and sent to Blackstone Labs for analysis.
Maintenance:
Full cooling system replacement at 115,000 miles
Replaced all transmission seals and fluid at 140,000 miles
The modification list includes:
Drivetrain:
TRM ECU tune
K&N cold air intake
Scorpion M3 catback exhaust
Polyurethane transmission mounts
Stewart-EMP water pump
Lower-temp thermostat
M3 LSD
Suspension:
ISC Race coilovers and adjustable camber plates- 32-way single adjustable
600 lb front Hyperco springs
750 lb rear Eibach springs with Ground Control perches
33.4 mm Hotchkis adjustable hollow front sway bar
Rear trailing arm bushing inserts
Rear sway bar delete
Bimmerworld long wheel studs
Brakes:
Hawk HP-S pads
ECS Tuning stainless steel braided brake lines
Motul 600 brake fluid
OEM replacement rotors
Body:
Fog light delete
All 4 fenders rolled to some extent
Front fender liners cut to accommodate wide wheels
DEPO glass headlights with angel eyes and 55-watt HID headlights
Black BMW roundels
Misc.:
Aftermarket head unit
Upgraded kick panel speakers
6x9 rear deck speaker conversion
Cons of the car:
The car shows a Salvage Title due to minor front-end and passenger door damage before my ownership (but seems to have been repaired very well)
Sunroof motor is broken or it is off-track (I haven't cared to fix it since it doesn't leak)
Dash light behind mileage is out
The car will come with the stock rear sway bar and mounts, Brand New unmounted Supersprint rep headers, a set of 16"x8" wheels with no tires, and one extra good front strut bearing. Priced at $4,500.
Available extras for the right price are a reclinable Sparco seat, Schroth Quick-fit harness, and Enkei "Unicorn" ultra-light competition wheels with half-used Bridgestone RE-71r's (purchased in spring 2016)
