Tranny removal help

I am trying to remove my 5 speed. The cltuch cylander is dead. I can not get the drive shaft to turn to get at bolts. Feels like stuck in gear.

You should be able to yank it out of gear into neutral... does that not work? If you want and you need to replace the slave anyway, unbolt it and push on the clutch fork. it will push in the pressure plate and release the clutch, but I imagine that this will be a lot of force.
