Not for my BMW but today I bought a #6 pool ball for the shifter on my mini.
Other cool ideas for a shifter are beer tap handles.

I've always loved the ZHP knob, but I'm definitely going to have to go with the delrin Jaffster knob on this one. ^^

I had one for about a week. The day it got so hot it sitting in the sun that it actually burned my hand was the day I returned it.

I have one a guy made me out of billet on a manual lathe, it's my favorite but it's threaded M12x1.5 and I have only used it in my VWs. Right now in the BMW I have an AKG 6 inch delrin. I like it because it's closer to the steering wheel.

I used to have this in my e30 and actually really liked it. It felt shorter than stock but I liked the sort of vintage feel.

I have the BavAuto wood knob in my car. I love the classic look and it actually feels pretty good too; slightly heavier than the oem vinyl one. Looks like it is no longer on their website though.

I've never liked weighted shift knobs. I prefer having more feedback from what's going on in my transmission. I love the bavauto standard 5psd knob. light and has a great feel. I guess if I wanted a weighted knob, I would go with the ZHP. basically the same design with more weight.
