Hey guys, need some incite..

Brand new PNP MS for a turbo M20, plugged in tried to start and no spark..

Does this module come with a base tune? or does it have to be downloaded before you try to get the car running (no spark)

Everything else works fine.

the instructions DIY give with their unit suck.

The tuner studio does not find the unit and all this came direct from them
Hell, I got the whole shebang, wide band, coil packs etc...
and can't even get it going with the basic ecu first.
They also offer no hot line other than their email
If they can't offer better help I'd not recommend them to anyone.
Particularly if the stuff won't work.

What exactly did you buy, how did you install it, and where exactly did you get stuck?

The more you give us, the more we can help. any data logs? Running wasted spark? How do you know it's spark that's the problem?

i bought the MSPNPv2 for the M20, that's all I'm trying to set up to start.
Thought it would be a walk in the park since it's billed as PNP.

(I also bought coils, controller for coils, wide band, afm replacement sensor,
all this to be done once I'm sure the ecu is going to work)

Started out, the computer could not connect with the ecu, ''

error message to this effect, "tuner studio does not have the conf. to support the found firmware:
ms2/extra pre-3.3 etc................................... "

now I have it finally where the Computer and tuner studio can find it but...

I go through File>Open Tune>MSPNP2_1.3>BMW M20-B25.msq then hit burn,

I get;

"Signatures do not match
Tune file signature MS2 Extraserial 330B
Config Sig MS2 Extracomms 330N2
Do you want to load anyway? "

When I go on anyway,
Burn BMW M20-B25.msq

I get errors or warnings screen during load and the question

I've viewed (might as well be greek) and ignored, tuner studio thinks it's
burned the BMW E30 basic and I've checked the base timing set ups as per the instructions...though when I hit burn I'm not really sure it does because I never see a message flat out stating that.

the car will still not crank until I re install the stock ecu.

I'm new to Turnerstudio, but I'm pretty good with Megatune. It sounds like your firmware doesn't match. I'm not a computer nerd, but you have to be able to follow their instructions. Sometimes I have to read it 4-5 times, before I understand what they are saying. Have patience, think of it as a challenge not a hassle. Relax it's really not that hard once you read everything at least 4 to 5 times.
