I can vouch on the chatter. Mine makes quite a bit of noise, but I honestly don't care. :D

The stock IS flywheel is around 24 lbs. I bought a Metric Mechanic flywheel for my car, and it's about half that, at 12 lbs.

I absolutely LOVE it. I get in ym dad's E36 M3, and it feels like it takes forever for revs to fall. I love how my car revs quickly, faster rev matches, and it just seems to fall into gear when shifting up.

    Definately worth it!

harder to drive at 5mph in parking lots and backing up

light weight flywheel and low oil pressure creates frequent stalling in stop and go traffic made me look like a noob until I got the oil pressure problem fixed. I was having to let the clutch out kinda high usually chirping the tires to keep the engine going when I let off the gas to hit the clutch, good excuse to burn the 14" rubber off.

I'll take one of these please. I wonder what it would take to get one to fit, or made for, the m20?

Nothing wrong with a 2k rpm idle. [/url]

it wont raise your idle it makes carrying speed going up hills and driving slower harder, a camshaft with bigger lobes for more duration and lift will change your idle and put your power band anywhere you want it.

            Thanks for the tip.

What I meant was that you would likely have to raise the idle to keep the engine running, because you have so much less stored enertia.

Stock flywheel is closer to 20-21lbs.

My idle was not affected at all with my lightened flywheel.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Well I doubt with an aluminum flywheel you are going to have any problems, but with a 3lb flywheer for use with a 5" tripple disk clutch... I can see bumping up the idle a bit.
