    Clutch Replacement on S52 swap

Had this posted under the engine swap area but I think it might be better answered here.

I had built this car 5 years ago and put a lot of miles on it since with almost no problems to speak of, however the clutch is clearly on its last legs and I really need to change it out. When I built it I did everything on the bench and installed the motor and trans together. I really don't want to pull it all out to get the tranny off. Someone here must have done it in the past with the motor in the car. I know there are usually many ways to do the same job so I am looking for any and all suggestions. The head is really close to the firewall so I'm not sure how much tilt I can get to get that top bolt. FYI the car is a 91 formerly M42 motor and I am using the G240 Gearbox.
    Thanks,
    Seth

You can put longer bolts in the front subframe and lower the engine about an inch.

Thank You! That makes perfect sense, were you able to get at the starter nuts without removing the intake by doing that?

Never tried. I haven't used an unthreaded starter with an S5x.

Also, a wobble bar is your friend.

...and if the E46 is any guide, don't be afraid to rock the engine forward for some bolts,
and back for others. You may need to pull the radiator to get enough clearance...

Nah. Just take a long wobble bar over the transmission from the back.

Thank you both, I will be doing this over the next couple of weeks so I may have other questions. Fortunately I have a lift in my garage so I won't be doing this on my back like when I built it. I have a m20 flywheel any suggestions on a clutch. I think my pressure plate is messed up and caused this problem.
