Motorcyclist wins taping case against Maryland state police

Sets precedent against police officers using wiretapping laws against citizens recording police in public.

Good, this is a free society and there's no reason why someone shouldn't be able to record in public.

Yeah most cops threaten to take a camera if your seen taping them. They don't like worry about if they f'ed up. MD/DC/NoVa is a known Police occupied area, if you get caught screwing off expect to pay the piper.

I got pulled over one night in Fairfax just after I got some work done on my m3 and was screwing around with a slapped foreign plate on it. Needless to say almost lost the thing that night if wasn't for the Gov't Id and a Customs tin I have.

You know, he really wasn't doing anything that bad. He did a little wheelie and got on it with no traffic in front of him, slowed down calmly when he caught up to traffic, didn't lane split and seemed to be rather considerate in general other than that.

Fuck these assholes. I get that nobody's perfect and people are a little critical of the cops, but he just pulled a gun on a guy, for what? Speeding?

anything above 80 mph gets you just about jail time. It's a felony now.
