Thought I was cool when I bought these, but apparently everyone and their mothers has a set. Didn't like the dated color scheme at first, but it's grown on me. Also the rest of my interior is shit, so it doesn't matter. Still dig them though, super comfy, yet supportive. wow.

Picked up some genuine Recaro SR3's on eBay for $500. Idea is to get the whole interior re-trimmed to match, however these have cleaned up pretty nicely, so I'll run them for a while. Just need some Massive seat rails now.

To clean I first vacuumed all the dog hair and crap off them, then got some interior cloth cleaning spray > sprayed a small area > agitated with a small brush > wiped off with a microfibre cloth > repeated until it looked semi ok.

Keep in mind the lighting is different in the after pic, I'm still really happy. Just going to get some fabric tape to cover the hole.

I'll be installing my LS's this weekend, have the Massive adapters and the directions say to mount the sliders and adapters to the floor, tighten, then install seat and tighten. Doesn't look real easy to get access with an allen wrench. A
I'm thinking lowering the whole kit and kaboodle in as one, but trans tunnel may be an issue since it says to torque the 10mm bolts to 50lb/ft.
        Recommendations?

Processed I used which was pretty easy

          - install the Massive adaptors onto the sliders
          - attach sliders to seats bases but do not tighten the the allen bolts to allow for some play
          - bolt seats to the floor
          - hand tighten the allen bolts to secure seat to sliders

I used a mini ratchet handle like this with a allen bit for the last step

Excellent. That's what I thought. just concerned about tightening those allen head bolts in small clearances under the seat.

There was enough room to reach underneath to tighten the allen bolts.

I made the mistake of mounting everything on a seat first and then realized the angle was off when the sliders did not line up with the floor holes.

Hi there - I'm new to the forum. I don't own an E30, but I'm a big fan. I found this thread while I was researching Recaros. I recently purchased a 5spd Legacy GT wagon, and it came with these Recaros in it. From what I've been told, they came from Japan. Anything anyone could tell me about them would be greatly appreciated. I need to sell them, but have no idea what they are worth. I love them, but I need the air bags that are in the stockers. Because this will be a family wagon. A 350hp family wagon though ;) Again - thank you for any help, and I apologize for crashing your forum. This seems to be a pretty awesome community. - Mike

I've got a few new Recaro bits. A set of blue Recaros with, low/non existent ass bolsters. I got them locally inexpensively. My plan is to turn them into office chairs. Not sure what model they are, but I haven't really looked into it. The material is very durable, almost has the feel of M-Tech fabric.

Also got this neat Recaro advertisement on eBay. As I recall it's dated from the 80s. It's in a frame in the office now though, so the date is covered.

Lastly some orange 'spectrum' Recaros, I had a friend (bigwilly) who wanted them for his 2002 so I only owned them for a few hours, but it was fun while it lasted.

From what I can find they are Recaro Sr4 Trial. They look to be about $1600 new without rails. They look to be 'custom' so I'm guessing they were more expensive. They do look better than the other purple ones I can find. I'd probably price them at about $1600 if I were selling them and see what people would offer me.

Has anyone ever found a source for replacement foam? Need seat bottom section for my LS, has a split across the bottom.

Might try the awesome green label 3M spray adhesive.

All you Recaro Guys, did any of you manage to source matching Recaro fabric for your Recaro seats?
I just picked these up yesterday, and they're Brown, so I really want to match the rear seat to the Recaros.

I have these coming over in March for my e28. Non forward reclining for four door cars. I think they are LXB. Now to decide how to reupholster them and who to do it now that Ron is out.

                            Looking for C Classic parts

Greetings from cold Finland (-20C, -4F)

I'm restoring a pair of Recaro C Classics. Hard to find plastic coverings around the hinges. Capital Seating in UK is trying to locate them, but so far haven't found any. Could you recommend other sources. Also intressed in used pieces. Tips of adds for sale also very welcome!

                            My needs are:

                            1. Covers 1 and 2 are from opposite side seat, so my need are reversal version of those two. Parts 3-5 need is as seen in pictures.

                            2. In brochure pic you can see triangular adjuster knobs. I'm in need of
                            1-2 of those also.

                            3. Control panel has thee buttons to empty air pressure. 2-3 pieces of these.

Is there a spare parts catalogue available for C Classic or Ideal seat somewhere?

Is anyone familiar with these seat covers sold in Amazon? Link below. Will they fit well?

Just bought this set of vintage Recaros locally.
I don't know anything about them, except that they were in a second gen (74-81) Ford Escort. They had rails to match the car, but I don't know that they were original to the Escort.

They seem pretty bog standard to me, not even a tilt-forward option on them for back seat access.
They're not the right style for my E30, so I'll be reselling them.

I love the color, it's actually a nice blue. My phone camera doesn't do it justice. I'll try to get some better pictures later.

Any idea what model these might be?

                                EDIT:
From some googling of "factory recaros", it appears these are from a Chevy Lumina 9C3, of all places. It looks like they came with the police package.
