Hey folks, bought an 87 528e this weekend. I'm in love with the car already! However it's still rough around the edges.
Right now, only one of the headlights - the outside driver side light - works. I swapped the bulb from the passenger side and sure enough the bulb was still good. The two inside lights were unplugged so I plugged them back in, still nothing.
Any ideas on a course of action I could take?
Also, the driver's power window works intermittently. When it works, it moves faster than the other three windows, but when it decides to not work, I can still hear a click coming from or around the window motor. Searched it up, found that dirty contacts are usually the culprit for dodgy power windows in these cars so I pulled the switch and cleaned it up. I did this while the window was working, and after cleaning up the contacts it still worked. Later in the day it was back to the clicking. I connected one of the switches I knew was good to the driver switch and still just clicking. Any known fixes?
