I got a lead on a euro spec m30 b34 with 25 kilometers on it that needs new rings and the cly .2 over cause they are rusted. I know it's a higher compression motor with 218hp. I'm wondering would that be a better turbo candidate or a us spec b34 with a b35 intake and possibly head. I could put the b35 head and intake on the euro spec if it would work but idk since it's euro spec. So what would be best. Btw can doglegs handle high hp? Cause the motor has a dogleg with the same mileage

US spec B34 with b35 head. thatll give you the best head flow and lowest compression. if you do buy that engine, I want the pistonsLast edited by totheredline; 05-04-2015, 10:22 AM.= Heidi 1988 325 -> 335i. 7200rpm built M30

Bought the motor. The Pistons got to much vertical scouring to keep. But I'm keep the head.

awesome! out of curiosity, Does it have double valve springs? looks like youre in the same boat as me trying to find pistons. real oem says that theyre still available for like $350 (which isn't bad). Theyre manufactured by mhale. not sure if youd have to get them through the dealer or what.= Heidi 1988 325 -> 335i. 7200rpm built M30

I found set on eBay for like 800 euros if I got dirty m30 I'll get those but I think I'm just gonna build a wicked turbo motor with a euro head

Custom Pistons. The 10:1 Pistons are as much as forged low compression turbo Pistons.

From what the machine shop says no. I know that's what most people
Do but I'm going for big power and stock Pistons won't last, nor will the rods so they will be eagle of course.

What kinda management will you be running? Im going the basic MS1 route (because broke college kid life). Ive seen people running crazy boost on stock US spec B34s.
M30s are solid ass motors. However, I have heard of connecting rod issues above 400hp.= Heidi 1988 325 -> 335i. 7200rpm built M30

The whodwho ms2 is $700. And you are going over 400hp? That's crazy right? I'm going for around 250+ ish.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

Cant even imagine 400 plus HP in an e30. Ive gotten a ride in a B35 (with 3.46 rear) swapped car with about 150k on the motor. Youd be surprised how well 200hp moves an E30. we even walked through a 4.6 mustang. As a newish driver, that car could easily have get me in plenty of trouble. Im hoping to make around 210 to the wheels. B34 head with B35 intake valves and +1mm exhaust valves, b35 valve springs, IE billet cam, no AFM, dirty euro pistons, crank scraper, ect hoping to keep the build under 3k. All my suspension and brakes are brand new so I can dump everything into the motor.= Heidi 1988 325 -> 335i. 7200rpm built M30

Hoping to be above 5 but after a tune and e85 conversion maybe more but I don't really care. It will make what ever it wants I don't wanna push it

yeah you should have no problem with that amount of power http://turbochargingdynamics.com/?page_id=630= Heidi 1988 325 -> 335i. 7200rpm built M30
