Forum Robo-Spam

Something like that would work for members of the forum, but how about someone who just bought an e30 and wants to join the community? They're not going to know its powered by an m20 or what the chassis code is nessicarily.

They can figure it out, though. They're gonna learn those things within the first day of being on the forums, might as well teach some search skills. If we weed out a few lazy would-be members then so be it.

I think it's a good idea, anyway. But I guess I'm alone so I'll shut up now. Carry on.

Hell, a simple question like "What model is your E30?" and just filter out what isn't an actual model.


People without e30s may get annoyed though.

The Car Audio & Electronics subforum could use a look from someone with delete power. Lots of spam threads on the first page.

Another forum that I frequent just implemented some code so that users with less than 5 posts can't post links…

There's lots of spam posts even in sticky threads. And the sign-up questions are pretty specific - I think someone has cracked the vB software because there's no way people are signing up here and doing this. I also noticed when bots "post" they just copy a real post perfectly and then add a link to make it look real.
