    I used to run Royal Purple in my cars. The UOA for my first car (Mazda RX-8) was pretty damned good. It did, however, cause my car to blow blue smoke (I was catless). I thought it was just a rotary thing.

    Swapped over to Rotella for my second car (MazdaSpeed6). Also pretty good if I used the diesel formula.

    Currently in my Honda I just run Castrol synthetic. I spent a week doing UOA research, and found them to be most suited to the S2000.

    What I've learned from all this is that different cars, different brands. Not exactly sure why though...

              Its very interesting to me when you look at oils strictly from a data/number perspective. The ams oil 15-50 and mobile 15-50 are terribly close in specs but ams oil is superior...I'm not being argumentative, just questioning what makes it better?

                ZDDP is all you need kendall, castrol, rotella. Royal Purple is for ricers!!

                        Back when I had an M50 I used Mobil 1 one time and my whole valve train sounded like shit, switched it with Castrol and within 30 seconds of startup the sound went away. My .02
